Photo-ID Methodology for Cetacean Studies

Using photographs to identify individual dolphins & whales

This course provides an introduction to the photo-ID methodology for studying whales & dolphins.

Participants will gain field practice and theoretical knowledge about how to recognise individual animals and create photo-ID catalogues. Training will be provided on how to use digital SLR cameras, processing images  and comparing photographs.

Minimum number of participants: 6 persons, AIMM reserves the right to cancel the course until 72h before the starting date

No previous experience or knowledge is required 

This course is recommended for students of biology and marine sciences and anyone with an interest in wildlife photography

Available only for Portuguese residents

Minimal age: 16 years old

Certification provided on completion of the course
