Cetacean biology and ecology

Biology and ecology of whales and dolphins

This 4 day course provides the opportunity to learn about cetaceans in the field with a team of experts. 

Participants will gain knowledge about the different species of cetaceans, how indentify them, research methodologies, cetacean behaviour & ecology and the main threats facing these wonderful animals.

COURSE BULLET POINT:

13 hours theoretical classes about cetaceans

2 fields trips at sea for cetacean data colection (8 hours total)

3 hours debate about marine conservation issues

Minimum number of participants 6 persons, AIMM reserves the right to cancel the course up to 72h before the start date

No previous experience or knowledge required 

This course is ideal for biology and marine science students, and anyone interested in increasing their knowlodge of cetaceans 

Available only for Portuguese residents

Minimum age 16 years old

Certification provided on completion of the course
