Nauticinblu Project in Faro – 2025

The environmental education program “Nauticinblu” returns to Portugal!

The “NauticinBlu” environmental education project, created by Marevivo with the long-term support of the MSC Group’s MSC Foundation, first arrived in Portugal in 2024 in Almada, organised by the Portuguese NGO AIMM. The “NauticinBlu” Project already involves 20 Nautical Institutes in Italy and aims to expand in Europe, being present in addition to Portugal, also in Greece and Spain.

In 2025, AIMM will once again be the Portuguese partner to implement this project in the country, and now the South is the chosen region. During the months of April and May, 144 students from Escola Básica Santo António and Escola Secundária João de Deus, in Faro, will participate in days full of theoretical and practical activities.

Over the course of four days, students in the 8th, 9th, 10th and 12th grades of the two schools in the João de Deus School Group in Faro will participate in a range of theoretical and practical activities. Highlights include a field trip to observe dolphins, accompanied by AIMM researchers and in collaboration with the company Ocean Quest from Vilamoura.

Students will also participate in an educational paddy paper, in which they will have to apply the knowledge acquired in the initial presentation of the project and in the experience in the sea, coordinating movements and knowledge in a collaborative way. To conclude, they will collectively paint a themed mural, representing the ecosystems and marine species observed, thus leaving a visual and educational mark on their school about the importance of protecting the marine environment.

Marevivo’s educational exhibition “Only One: One Planet, One Ocean, One Health”, created in collaboration with the Italian Navy and the Fondazione Anton Dohrn in Naples – and illustrating key points of an effective ecological transition – will also be on display in the schools participating in the project.
